Waterfall Arts invites artists of all ages to contribute artwork for an upcoming show titled Corrugation Nation. The show will run from April 6 until May 18, with a closing party on Friday, May 18 that will include a raffle of several of the pieces from the show.
The predominant material in the artwork must be cardboard (at least 60%), the kind that has corrugation as a structural basis, as opposed to paperboard (cereal box type board). Other media may be included in the piece, such as paint, wood, wire, fiber, glue, etc. Works may be 2-D, relief, 3-D, video, kinetic or performance-based, and will be displayed in all parts of the Waterfall Arts facility in Belfast: the Clifford Gallery, the corridors and the Fallout Shelter. While there is no size limitation, works absolutely must be display-ready with appropriate hanging devices already attached (if not, they will not be hung). All works must be appropriate for all audiences.
Corrugation Nation work should be dropped off at Waterfall Arts, 256 High Street in Belfast, from 12 to 7 Thursday, March 29 and from 12 to 5pm on Friday and Saturday, March 30 and 31. All art must be for sale; during drop off, artists will be asked if they are willing to donate their piece to a fundraising raffle. The raffle will take place at the closing party on May 18 with ticket sales benefitting Waterfall Arts programs. Some of the donated works will be featured on the Waterfall Arts website and tickets may be purchased when the exhibit opens until the winning tickets are drawn. Pick-up of unsold work will be Saturday, May 19 and Tuesday, May 22 from 10 to 5. Any works not claimed by that date will be recycled or discarded.
Waterfall Arts, now in its thirteenth year, is dedicated to creating community in harmony with nature through the transformative power of the arts.
