Four classes in creating, unique artistic journals!

Art journaling is a way of responding to daily life using a visual rather than verbal language. This 4-part series will show participants various ways of illustrating pages to create personal meaning. Painting, printing, collage, transfer and layering techniques will be demonstrated to show how you can make rich surfaces on which to write (or not!).

The series is preceded by a workshop on Saturday, April 7, in which participants will be taught how to bind their own book using the Coptic binding technique. It is not necessary to sign up for the single workshop in order to register for the series.
Instructor Abbie Read, an artist member of Aarhus Gallery and a Waterfall Arts Board member, has been involved with all aspects of book arts for many years. She often incorporates books made from found and recycled materials into her sculptural work.
