February-Art-Classes-Events
Art classes for kids are starting up again at Waterfall Arts, leading off with School Vacation Art Camp for kids 8 to 12. The theme for the week is “Exploring Pointillism”, a technique invented and used by the French Impressionist painter Georges Seurat. Lesia Sochor, the art camp’s experienced teacher says she’ll use Seurat’s paintings to encourage the group to make paintings in the pointillist style, as well as creating a communal mural and adds that “We'll have to make some interesting brushes to help us explore the world of painting dots!” The camp runs during school vacation week, Monday through Friday, February 21 to 25, from 9 am to 12 noon. Daily outdoor breaks are scheduled everyday. Enrollment is limited to eight students. Tuition is $90 for the week (additional sibling $80) All materials included. Linda Stec resumes leading the ever popular “Wonders of Clay” class for kids five to eighteen on Wednesday afternoons from 3:30 to 5:30 pm.
