Wait Until Dark Maine Made Movie Series on September 3
The third installment of the Wait Until Dark – Maine Movie Series is scheduled for Friday, September 3rd at Waterfall Arts Belfast. The evening’s films will be shown indoors in the Fallout Shelter starting at 8:15pm. Music by Inner Circle featuring Noah Fishman will start at 7:30 pm.
Friday night's screening focuses on young Maine filmmakers. Clayton Clemetson and Emma Hamm from Belfast will present their short original films. Deb Vendetti, who has led animation workshops for young people all over the state, contributed five cut paper animation films for this screening. These youth-produced films are delightful, creative and full of wonder and charm. Filmmaker Daniel Quintanilla, who has worked with the Maine Media Workshops, will present Perimetro, a 12 minute film featuring artist Judith Olson and the natural beauty of Maine.  He will also show one of his original stop-motion animation films.
The first 25 people to arrive will get a free, Maine-made whoopie pie! The film series is funded in part by an Artists in Maine Communities grant from the Maine Arts Commission, an independent state agency supported by the National Endowment for the Arts. Admission at the door is $2. Waterfall Arts Belfast is located at 256 High Street.

Of his short film, Quintanilla said, "Look out into the horizon, separate the earth from the sky, what do you see? Perímetro is a film that invites the viewer to dwell if only for a moment in that space. Viewers accompany painter Judith Olson and filmmaker Daniel Quintanilla as they flânent (wander) through the Maine forests and visit the outer edges of an experience anchored on Olson’s paintings and border sounds."
