FAMILY FUN DAY
at the
HANDMADE
Arts and Crafts SALE
Saturday Dec. 11
from 12 noon to 3pm
On Saturday, December 11, Waterfall Arts invites the community to a Family Fun Day in celebration of its current Handmade Art and Craft Sale. The activities begin at noon and include making ornaments, live music, a chance to meet some of the artists and crafters, a fire pit for roasting hot dogs and toasting marshmallows, shopping in the gallery, hot cocoa and art movies. Musicians performing are Ando Anderson, Jeff Densmore and Alan Crichton, David and Dan Clarke and Jeremiah Kahn and Noah Fishman. The family activities will end at 3, but the gallery is open until 5 for shopping.
The Clifford Gallery has been turned into a seasonal shop full of handmade goods, many made from recycled, vintage, repurposed, eco-friendly or upcycled materials. Curator Britta Konau selected Maine artists and crafters who use these materials in unique and exciting ways. Jewelry made of rubber, glass, clay, cloth, buttons, silver and beads is on display beside handbags, clothing, toys and hats made from recycled fabric, along with welded figures, pottery, fish sculpture, stone lamps, lip balm, vintage clothing, cards and artwork by artists Dennis Pinette, Wes and Willy Reddick, Jeff and Lydia Badger and Kathy Melio.
Prices range from $5-$256. Part of the proceeds benefit Waterfall Arts which gives buyers the opportunity to support a vital community art center and local artists and purchase awesome, unique gifts at the same time. Waterfall Arts is located at 256 High Street in Belfast. Sale hours through December 24th are Tuesday through Sunday from 11am to 5 pm; the shop is closed on Monday.
